New York has not been spared from the opioid crisis that has impacted the nation. Sullivan County, an Upstate county with one of the highest rates of opioid deaths, is profiled in a new research project from the Rockefeller Institute of Government which looks at how rural communities are responding to the crisis. Katie Zuber, Assistant Director of Policy and Research at the Rockefeller Instituter and Executive Director of the Center for Law and Policy Solutions, and Patricia Strach, Deputy Director for Research at the Rockefeller Institute and Associate Professor of Political Science and Public Administration and Policy, explained their findings.
