January 2, 2020: Bail reforms in New York

Much of the conversation surrounding bail in Albany has been over the reforms passed in 2019. However, one major reform to the state’s bail reform, charitable bail, did not make it over the goal line. Susan Bryant, Executive Director of New York State Defenders Association, shared with us how the program would work and how some Upstate communities have implemented pilot programs.
