Sen. Diane Savino (IDC – Staten Island) has introduced legislation to classify N.F.L. cheerleaders as employees rather than independent contractors. Many cheerleaders, she explains, do not even make minimum wage. We look at Gov. Cuomo’s proposal to raise the state minimum wage to $15/hr. across the board with Heather Briccetti, the President and CEO of the Business Council of NYS.
