Lois Gibbs blew the whistle about thousands of pounds of buried hazardous material in Love Canal, New York, the community where she was raising her family. 40 years later, we are still dealing with water and environmental crises in the state. Lois, who founded the Center for Health, Environment & Justice, joined us with her thoughts on Hoosick Falls and other contaminated areas in the state. We heard reaction to the Hoosick Falls Senate hearing from Michele Baker, a Hoosick Falls resident and mom. Brian Mann, a North Country Public Radio reporter, spoke with Susan Arbetter about whether the Adirondacks are welcoming to black, Hispanic and Asian tourists. We met Democrat Shaun Francis, who is running against Sen. Kathy Marchione (R – Halfmoon) in the 43rd Senate District.
